Summer Reading: Make A Claim

Because this class is all about the art of the argument, I'd like you to come up with an opinion: What was the author's purpose in writing this book? Who was his audience? Were there passages in the book that really spoke to you? Why? Form a mini-claim, state it on the comments, and then defend it with evidence from the text. Be brief and to the point.

Directions:

  • Go to the Class Discussion Page (icon on the right of this page)
  • Post your comment

Please be sure to log in to typepad before you post. Also, only correct punctuation and grammar accepted. And PLEASE keep language school appropriate.

Welcome New AP Language Students!

Hello everyone! I can't wait to begin the adventure that is AP Language. This class is going to change the way you read, the way you write, the way you think. I hope you will enjoy the process, because that's what writing is - a process.

I think you're going to enjoy this blog, which will often be the starting place for our many class discussions. So get ready to argue, to discuss, to think, and to communicate.

Aristoteles Aristotle is the leader of language, the guru of gab, the creator of communication, the wise man of words.
